I did it! I finished my 30 days of creativity. It was a more ambitious project than I realized at the outset. It began as a morsel: "Play Doh." Then, it grew into a frame (above). And before I knew it, it became a full-blown children's storybook.
Overall, I'm pretty proud of my work. Although there are some holes in the story, and I ended up piling several days of creativity into one on multiple occasions, I did what I set out to do. I made a story, one frame at a time, over the course of 30 days.
The next step is filling in the holes with several pages of transition text and illustrations, then self-publishing on Lulu.com. It will be a gift for my (husband's) nephews, who were each a character.
At the beginning (and at several points throughout), this was one of the most engaging and entertaining things I'd ever done. After a while, it did become another item on the to-do list, and I did go through a nasty week of writer's block once I got to the Lorph. But in the end, I'm really glad I did it and am still enthused about the end result.
